APSRTC Drivers and Conductors to Receive Night Out Allowance of Rs. 150

Amaravati: In a move that will benefit APSRTC drivers and conductors working long-distance services, the government has issued an order to provide a night out allowance of Rs. 150 per day. The allowance will be granted to staff who work night shifts exceeding six hours.

The decision comes after several months of appeals from trade unions, and it follows a proposal sent to the government by APSRTC officials. Transport Minister Mandipalli Ramprasadoddy prioritized the issue, which led to the government’s recent order.

This new allowance will apply to those working on approximately 3,000 night services, offering relief to those on regular night duty. Unions, including the National Labor Unity Association (NMUA), Employees Union (EU), Karmak Parishad, and Staff and Workers Federation (SWF), have welcomed the decision.

NMUA has also requested that arrears for night-out allowances be paid from the implementation of the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) in 2022, as the allowances were halted in July this year. The EU has echoed this demand for arrears from July onward, while Karmak Parishad attributed the delays to unclear policies from the previous government.
