Rajamahendravaram: Former MP Margani Bharat slammed the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for perpetuating caste-based discrimination, alleging suppression of BC, SC, and ST leaders within its ranks and governance.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Bharat pointed to a recent incident in Nuzividu, where Minister Parthasarathy and MLA Gouthu Sirisha were pressured to apologize for attending a statue unveiling alongside YSRCP leader Jogi Ramesh. He described the episode as a blatant display of caste arrogance, underscoring deep-rooted biases in TDP’s leadership and policies.
“This reflects TDP’s inherent caste prejudice, which has long been detrimental to marginalized communities,” Bharat remarked.
In a move to promote community engagement, Bharat announced the YSRCP Cricket Tournament to mark the birthday of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on December 21. The tournament will take place at Margani Estate, offering prizes of Rs 50,000 for first place, Rs 25,000 for second place, and Rs 15,000 for third place. With over 100 teams expected to participate, the event aims to foster unity, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
