Rajamahendravaram: Minister Kandula Durgesh has called for strict action against those responsible for the recent burning of documents at the Polavaram project office in East Godavari district. During his visit to the site, the minister expressed his outrage at the negligence displayed by the staff and issued a stern warning that there will be no hesitation in taking serious measures against those involved.
After inspecting the burnt documents, Minister Durgesh criticized Rajamahendravaram RDO Sivajyoti for dismissing the destroyed files as mere xerox papers. He accused the officials of attempting to erase evidence of corruption that occurred during the previous government’s tenure. The minister emphasized that the incident raises serious suspicions and requires a thorough investigation.
In addition, Joint Collector Chennarayu was advised not to shield any personnel who may be responsible for the incident. The minister directed the higher authorities to conduct a full and transparent investigation to uncover the truth behind the document burning and ensure that those accountable face the appropriate consequences.
The incident has sparked widespread concern, with allegations that important documents related to the Polavaram project’s land acquisition were deliberately destroyed to cover up past corrupt activities.
