BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday accused BJP supporters of hypocrisy after facing online criticism for questioning the hurdles to Starlink’s entry into India.
KTR said BJP supporters welcomed the satellite internet service when Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw spoke in its favour. However, he claimed they attacked him when he raised questions about the issue.
He also shared Vaishnaw’s post from March 2025, in which the minister welcomed Starlink and said it could help railway projects in remote areas.
The controversy grew after Elon Musk claimed on Thursday that some business groups were trying to block Starlink to protect their market position.
Responding to Musk, KTR asked him to name the business groups allegedly standing in the way of the service. His remarks drew criticism from BJP supporters on social media.
KTR later questioned why BJP supporters praised the minister’s earlier comments but criticised him for raising a similar issue.
