BRS Questions Telangana’s Overseas Job Scheme

Overseas jobs offer many young people a chance to build their careers. In Telangana, a government-backed recruitment programme promising jobs in Germany has now come under political scrutiny over claims about its placement process and fees.

On Thursday, BRS leader R. S. Praveen Kumar accused the Congress government of failing job seekers through the Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM). He said hundreds of candidates paid ₹4.1 lakh each for training and job placement, but fewer than 10 were sent to Germany.

Praveen Kumar alleged that candidates signed agreements with a private company called Fair Street and were later directed to it for refunds. He also claimed some applicants paid an extra ₹20,000 for exam bookings and covered travel costs.

He questioned why Fair Street was chosen and demanded an inquiry into the recruitment process. He asked the government to disclose placement details and ensure that affected candidates receive refunds.

The BRS leader also sought action against those responsible and called on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Labour Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy to respond. These claims were made by the BRS; the report did not include a response from the state government.
