Guntur: Fresh CCTV footage from Arandalpet police station has ignited public outrage, showing preferential treatment given to rowdy sheeter Borugadda Anilkumar while in police custody. The video, which surfaced on social media on Sunday, has a duration of 3 minutes and 58 seconds, revealing surprising conduct by the police.
In the footage, Anilkumar is seen ordering tea with the words “Bhaiya Oka Tea,” which is promptly brought by a constable. Another constable is then seen kissing Anilkumar. The video has drawn criticism from netizens, questioning the double standards of the police.
Protesters argue that common accused individuals are often made to sit on the station floor, while Anilkumar, a remand prisoner, is treated with what appears to be undue “royal etiquette.” Critics are also questioning whether such actions occurred without the knowledge of senior officials, urging accountability beyond the suspended constables.
One suspended staff member alleged that even the DSP, during a visit to the station on September 27, interrogated Anilkumar in the CI room while he was seated on a chair. Public calls for comprehensive action against all responsible parties, including senior officers, are growing louder.
