The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit in Andhra Pradesh (A.P.) called for agitation against the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government over pending irrigation projects in Andhra Pradesh.

On the 14th of March, Mr. Somu Veerraju announced the launch of the agitation on the 19th of March, demanding the completion of pending irrigation projects in the State.  During a press meet, the BJP leader said, Galeru Nagari Sujala Sravanthi(GNSS) Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) Vamikonda, Sarvaraya Sagar, Brahmam Sagar, Gandikota, Rojali, Sagileru irrigation projects are pending under the leadership of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and previous CM Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, of the Telugu Desam Party. 

Mr. Somu Veerraju said although the BJP led Central Government released Rs. 13,000 crores, the projects were left midway.  The projects which started in the Rayalaseema region have been incomplete for over 10 years now, which are having an impact on agriculture operations in the Telugu states.   Therefore, now to mount pressure on the YSRCP Government,  the BJP would conduct a big meeting in the name of Rayalaseema Ranabheri in Kadapa.

BJP leaders and cadres would participate in the agitation against the current Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Government.
