The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday, the 24th of May, termed the Telangana High Court’s grant of bail to T. Gangi Reddy, an accused in the murder of Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy.

In the court, the CBI Hyderabad said that the bail to Gangi Reddy was “inherently contradictory”.   Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain, who appeared on behalf of tghe CBI Hyderabad said, “We have never heard of it that the order which cancels the bail allows the bail.  How is it possible?  Inherently contradictory.”

The statement was made in the Apex Court, in which they spoke against the verdict of the Telangana High Court which is contradicting its own verdict in the same case.  The plea was heard by a vacation bench of Justices P.S. Narasimha and Pankaj Mithal.

The bench heard a petition filed by Y.S. Vivekanda Reddy’s daughter, Suneetha Narreddy, who challenged the HC order granting conditional bail to T. Gangi Reddy alias Yerra Gangi Reddy.  The matter came to the SC, as the Telangana HC bench which allowed the cancellation of T. Gangi Reddy’s bail, also granted him bail.

Meanwhile, the CBI Hyderabad is continuing its investigation of the 2019 Y.S. Vivekananda Murder Case.
