Earthquake jolts Malaysia with a 6.0 on scale

Earthquake jolts Malaysia: Yet another earthquake! This time in Malaysia’s Sabah state. According to the reports, the quake recorded a 6.0-magnitude on Richter scale.

As per the initial reports from the Malaysian Meteorological Services Department the quake epi-centered 16 km northwest of Ranau district. Police said the earthquake lasted around 30 seconds.

Apart from the state capital of Kota Kinabalu, the tremors were also felt in the Kudat and Kota Marudu districts.

The quake registered no known casualties yet, but windows in several shops were broken and a major water tank pipeline was cut in half.
