Iran to be committed to Nuclear deal: Hassan Rouhani

Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani on Sunday said that Iran will be committed to the Nuclear Deal made in July 2015. He also stressed that they will collaborate with International Atomic Energy Agency as per the agreement made previously.

President Rouhani, in a meeting with IAEA Director General Yukiyo Amano said that Iran has always been loyal to the agreements of the Nuclear deal till date. He emphasised that if all parties in the agreement are loyal to the Joint Comprehensive plan of Action, Iran will play its part and fulfill the deal.

The agreement Iran made with P5+1 countries limits the nuclear capabilities on Iran in exchange for lifting sanctions imposed on the country Internationaaly. These P5+1 countries inculde the US, Britain, China, Russia, France and Germany. Rouhani also mentioned that recent steps taken by the US administration, mainly Iran’s Sanctions Act are not suitable to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA.)

Rouhani also said that he hopes Iran and IAEA should have technical cooperation in nuclear-powered engines and maritime transport program. IAEA director general also issued a statement that Iran has remained committed from the day it took pledges since last January. He also said that IAEA will be impartial in promoting sanctions to the Iranian Government.

The Director General Amano’s visit was at the same time as the increase of tension between Washington and Tehran in regard to extension of Iran’s Sanctions Act for 10 years in to the future.
