Hyderabad to ban Diesel Cars?

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City might ban heavy diesel vehicles of more than 2000cc engines soon. The National Green Tribunal has already warned the Chief Secretaries of seven states, including Telangana. If the details of the diesel vehicles are not submitted, warrant will be issued to Chief Secretaries.

The hearing of this case filed by National Green Tribunal is scheduled on Monday and later in Supreme Court. According to Delhiite, Diesel vehicles were banned which helped in reducing a lot of pollution. National Green Tribunal said in its report that in 15 cities of the country, there are many diesel vehicles which are contributing to pollution.
If heavy diesel vehicles are banned in the major parts of the country, the jobs of 47000 employees could be in danger. Currently, the ban is imposed in Delhi and Kerala. The National Green tribunal has issued notices to eight states which include, Maharashtra, Telangana, UP, Karnataka, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and Bihar.
Govt. of Telangana is likely to submit a report on Air Pollution Control to the tribunal very soon.
