China Makes World’s First Electric Airplane

For China, Impossible is nothing, at least in terms of technology. Now, China has made the world’s first electric airplane, which they want it to be used for pilot training, tourism and rescue operations.

The flight named BXE1E will only take two hours to charge fully, which is less than the time taken to fully charge a smartphone now. At full charging, the flight can go up to an altitude of 3,000 meters, and can fly up to 45 minutes or one hour. The BXE1E has a maximum speed of 160 kmph.

The aircraft designed by Shenyang Aerospace University and Liaoning general aviation academy has received airworthiness certificate. It is priced around one million yuan approximately $163,000 USD. With the first two BXE1E getting delivered to Liaoning Ruixiang General Aviation Co., Ltd, the aircraft has already received an overall number of 28 orders so far.
