In yet another incident, a drunk passenger allegedly assaulted an air hostess in a Amritsar to Dubai flight.
On the 15th of May, Monday, the Amritsar Police arrested the accused, identified as Rajender Singh, a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. The police said the incident occurred during a fight from Amritsar- Dubai, after the passenger had a heated argument with the cabin crew, leading to molestation.
The case came into light after the security manager of the flight, officially registered a complaint against the drunk passenger. The Police said, “The air hostess brought the incident to the crew’s notice. The accused was allegedly in a drunken state.”
Rajender Singh was booked under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and Section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC.)
In the last few days, many cases of crime during flights are being registered and are being committed during drunk states, by passengers, raising question of security of the cabin crew and co-passengers.
