India Reports Lowest 13,058 New Wuhan Virus Cases In 231 Days With 98.14 %Recovery

On the 19th of October, Tuesday, India recorded 13,058 fresh cases of the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) Compared to the previous day, the number of cases are falling, taking the total active cases below 2,00,000. As per the official COVID-19 data, this is the lowest single day spike in the last 231 days. Yesterday, the 18th of October, India reported 13,596 cases of the Wuhan virus.

Besides the 13,596 new cases, the nation recorded 164 fatalities and 19,470 recoveries. The new cases were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday Morning. According to the Union Ministry data, the total cases of the Wuhan virus reached 3,40,94,373, of the total 1,83,118 are active cases, 3,34,58,801 are recovered/discharged cases and 4,52,454 are deceased cases till date.

The cases were confirmed after conducting a total of 11,81,314 sample tests, taking the number of COVID-19 tests to 59,31,06,188 crores in India.

The updated figures of the Wuhan virus are available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)

In addition, the national recovery rate of the Wuhan virus improved to 98.14 %, fatality rate is at 1.33% and active cases of COVID-19 are at 0.54%.

The major cases of the Wuhan virus are being reported from southern India, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. According to the COVID-19 data, Kerala has the highest active cases with 83,250, followed by Maharashtra 28,008, Tamil Nadu (14,570) Karnataka (9,164) and Andhra Pradesh (5,705.)

On the other hand, over 98,67,69,411 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far including 1 crore doses administered within the past 24 hours. The vaccines were given under the nationwide vaccination drive, which is soon to cross the 100 crores mark of administering COVID-19 vaccine. With the same speed, the Government of India is aiming to administer COVID-19 vaccine to 108 crore people by the end of December.
