Sushil Narsian, a resident of Mumbai will in his lifetime never forget the April 1st of 2017. This is because of the bill that he received from Ola on the said day. Sushil booked a cab from his home to Vakola market area in the evening rush hours. As the driver’s phone stopped working, he could not locate Sushil’s house which led for the passenger to walk and reach the cab. But by the time Sushil reached his cab, the driver had canceled the trip and left.

Sushil was prompted to book another cab and that was when he noticed something unusual and thought of it as a cruel prank by Ola on April Fool’s day. He was unable to book a cab because of the outstanding balance of Rs. 149,10,51,648. Sushil had trouble even in calculating the amount when he noticed that they even deducted Rs. 127 present in his Ola account. This was the amount charged for 300 meters distance.

Sushil, speaking to a news daily said, “Initially, I thought it was an April Fools’ prank.” When he contacted the company through Facebook, the company informed him that it was a technical glitch. They immediately refunded the money and also fixed the Rs. 149 crores glitch.

As usual, social media had a field day by seeing the taxi bill. A user posted, “149 crores ??? Where was the trip drop location ?? Pluto or Neptune ?” While another user exclaimed if it was an April Fool’s special prank on him. This glitch though did not deter him from using the App and said he does not hold any grudges against the company.
