Early on Friday morning, tremors were felt in North India. Magnitude 5 on Ritcher scale was recorded in New Delhi and Haryana. The epicenter of this quake is said to be in the Rohtak city of Haryana state.
According to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) earthquake monitoring service, the earthquake originated at 22km inside the earth. The tremors started at 4:25 AM and were visibly noticeable. It has been termed as ‘moderate’ level by the IMD.
According to reports, there have been n reports of casualty or damage. Delhi and parts of North India have been declared earthquake-prone zones. The seismologists of IMD have declared that there is an impending heavy magnitude earthquake in these regions. Due to the unreleased stress, it can range 8 and above on the Ritcher scale.
