Chairman of the OU Centenary Celebrations Alumni Committee, Shyam Mohan revealed that the villages will be named Osmania Modern Villages and the development programs will be headed by former students of OU that belong to those villages. He also said, “The state government has been promoting village adoption scheme and already public representatives, officials, celebrities, and other important personalities have decided to adopt backward villages in the State and develop them. Our Osmanians will also take part in the program and serve the State. The program will begin from next month itself.”

The investment in these villages will be required for schools and hospitals, to this Shyam Mohan said, “A high level committee will be constituted with some expert members on various issues such as doctors, engineers, and businessmen to interact with officials and zero in on issues pertaining to the specific village and solve them.”

They have also considering making arrangements for a number of sub committees like food committee, finance committee and women committee. The alumni committee has made a huge plan to help these villages in the best way possible. A member of the committee, Guduru Satyanarayana explained his reasons for taking part, “Almost 50 years back, I was at OU. Now, through the University, I want to help people as much as I can.
