Mr Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister of India, on the 20th of April, Wednesday, held a telephonic conversation with the family of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker who allegedly committed suicide in Telangana.
A BJP activist Sai Ganesh was charged with illegal cases by police when he just expressed his views on a corrupted government under Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar. Unable to bear the torture of police and the TRS in illegal cases, the BJP activist Sai tried to commit suicide and later died at the State run hospital.
Mr. Amit Shah expressed condolences and assured support to the family from the BJP. Notably, the Telangana BJP Core Committee Member and Tamil Nadu Co Incharge Mr. Sudhakar Reddy along with other BJP leaders visited the residence of Sai Ganesh and provided financial assistance. Later, they arranged a call with the Union Home Minister and made the family speak to him. After the call, Mr. Amit Shah assured the BJP support to the family and directed leaders to take the matter to the High Court, ensuring justice to the victim’s family.
After the call and meeting wit Sai Ganesh’s family, Mr. Sudhakar Reddy took to Twitter and said, “Met family members of beloved Kayakarta, Sai Ganesh, at their residence Khammam, TS and assured his grandmother of all possible assistance besides getting justice for him. Did my part by providing financial help. Ganesh committed suicide due to the atrocities of Ajay Kumar Puvvada.” In another tweet, he said, “Also connected the family telephonically with Union Minister Amit Shah Ji who extended full party support and assured that jointly, we will fight until justice is delivered. It was a very kind gesture on part of Amit Shah Ji and we are thankful for his support.”
In addition, the BJP Minister Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar is scheduled to visit Khammam, to participate in the statewide protests planned by the BJP, demanding justice to the BJP activist Sai Ganesh. Party workers are demanding a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the resignation of the Transport Minister, who allegedly harassed Ganesh, forcing him to take the drastic step and end his life. It is to be noted, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the BJP Chief in Telangana, has called for statewide protests with black ribbons. He himself is currently on a ‘Praja Sangrama Yatra’ campaign against “corruption and misgovernance of the TRS Government” and will sit on a protest in between the yatra.
Meanwhile, Ms. Renuka Chowdhury, an Indian National Congress (INC) leader from Khammam also appealed to Mr. Amit Shah, demanding action against Mr. Puvvada Ajay Kumar.
