The senior journalist turned activist Gauri Lankesh, from Bangalore, was shot and killed on Tuesday evening by three men at her residence. The assassination of journalists is not the first of it’s kind and it is a shame to our society to witness such a tragedy. Kalburgi was also assassinated in a similar manner, both were the outspoken critics of the right wing who speak fearlessly against injustice. Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Chief G. Parameshwara said Ms. Lankesh’s death is a huge loss to the community of independent journalism. The nation condemns the killing and the City of Bengaluru is in outrage today.
