Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India, on the 24th of August, attended the passing out parade at the National Police Academy (NPA.)  Also known as the Dikshant Samaroh, Mr. Shah was the chief guest at the event in Hyderabad. 

Mr. Shah reached the Shamshabad Airport around 11:30 P.M., on the 23rd of August. 

E.S.L. Narasimhan, the Governor of Telangana, Mahender Reddy, the Director General of Police of Hyderabad, Muhammed Ali, the Home Minister of Telangana and K. Laxman, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana welcomed Mr. Shah.

Home Minister Shah was invited by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government as the chief guest for the passing out parade event of the Indian Public Service (IPS) officers.  

The event took place, on the 24th of August, at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel NPA, where the 70th batch of 92  IPS cadets completed their training and passed out.

During the occasion, Mr. Shah congratulated the families of the IPS officers for their support and said, “Congratulations and thanks to the families (of IPS officers) for all the support they have given to IPS officers and the country.”

Amit Shah further said, “Sometimes, challenges will come and there will be some doubts in your mind when you may get orders that may seem unconstitutional, but please always work within the Constitution. We politicians get a chance to work for five years, while you get a chance to serve the country for 30 years.”

Out of 92 IPSs,  68 IPS probationers were MBBS  graduates and Engineers. Twelve of the cadets  were women IPS probationers.
