On the 24th of December, the Gandhi Hospital of Telangana submitted a report on the second autopsy along with a video clip of the four accused in the Disha rape and murder case to the Telangana High Court (HC.)
As per the orders of the Telangana HC, a team of forensic experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS,) on the 23rd of December, conducted a second postmortem on the bodies of the four accused. The orders of the Telangana HC came after Dr. P. Sravan Kumar, the Superintendent of the Gandhi Hospital, filed a petition informing about the decomposing situation of the bodies, which were under preservation since the 6th of December.
On the 6th of December, V.C. Sajjanar, the Commissioner of Cyberabad Police along with his team killed the four accused in an encounter.
The four accused were alleged of kidnapping and raping a 27 year old girl named Disha. The accused on the 28th of November raped Disha and burnt her alive.
After the forensic team conducted the autopsy and handed over the body to the families of the accused. The final rites of the four accused were conducted on the 23rd of December, 17 days after being killed.
Mr. Sravan who was present during the postmortem and recorded the process said, “The team first wanted to talk to the kin of the deceased. So accordingly we arranged an interaction with them. The team recorded their statements. The relatives informed the team that they would take the bodies once the process is completed.”
Though the AIIMS team submitted a report, the detailed report regarding the autopsy is yet to be submitted. The forensic team of AIIMS is expected to submit a detailed report regarding the Disha rape and murder case and it’s accused by the end of December. The team left for Delhi on the 23rd of December and handed over the report to the Gandhi Hospital authority, which submitted the reports of the AIIMS’ doctors to the Telangana HC on the 24th of December.
