Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 7th of May, spoke to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh (A.P,) regarding Visakhapatnam gas leak incident.
Mr. Modi in a video conference with Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and assured all kinds of help to control the situation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 11:00 A.M., conducted a meeting with the Ministry of Home Affairs and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) seeking necessary help for rescue.
Mr. Modi said, “Spoke to officials of MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) and NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) regarding the situation in Visakhapatnam, which is being monitored closely. I pray for everyone’s safety and well-being in Visakhapatnam.”

Ram Nath Kovind, the President of India, also took to Twitter and condemned the incident which claimed 8 lives and left many injured.

While thousands of people suffered minor injuries, 500 to 200 people are admitted to hospitals and are expected to be discharged soon.
As many as 70 are said to be unconscious and are getting treatment at King George Hospital, where Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy would meet the victims.
Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) also condemned the incident and asked INC leaders in A.P., to support.
Mr. Gandhi said, “I’m shocked to hear about that #VizagGasLeak . I urge our Congress workers & leaders in the area to provide all necessary support & assistance to those affected. My condolences to the families of those who have perished. I pray that those hospitalised make a speedy recovery.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also expressed grief over the sudden incident through a tweet.
Ministers, political leaders and other celebrities also took to Twitter and expressed their condolences.
