With another day passed, India reported 3,604 fresh cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 infection on the 12th of May.
According to the morning update provided by the Union Health Ministry, the total number of cases now stand at 70,756. Of the total cases, 46,008 are active and 2,293 are fatalities so far while at least 22,454 people have recovered from the COVID-19 infection.
Maharashtra is still the State with the highest number of Coronavirus infections with 23,401, followed by Gujarat with 8,541 cases and Tamil Nadu (8,002) cases so far.
Other states with highest number of cases after Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu are
Delhi (7,233,) Rajasthan (3,988,) Madhya Pradesh (3,785,) Uttar Pradesh (3,573,) Andhra Pradesh (2,018,) West Bengal (2,063,) Punjab (1,877) and Telangana (1,275.)
Among other major states and union territories that have reported cases below 1,000 ae Bihar (747, Haryana (730,) Jammu and Kashmir (879,) Karnataka (862,) Kerala (520,) Odisha (414,) Tripura (152, Chandigarh (181,) Jharkhand (161,) Uttarakhand (68,) Assam (65,) Chhattisgarh (59,) Himachal Pradesh (59,) Ladakh (42,) Meghalaya (13) and Puducherry (12.)
States/UTs that have zero coronavirus cases are Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, Mizoram and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. All individuals have been cured in these states/UTs and no casualties has been reported from here so far.
