The Andhra Pradesh Government on the 21st of October implemented the YSR Bheema Scheme.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh launched the YSR Bheema Scheme for the underprivileged in Andhra Pradesh.
The scheme would benefit nearly 1.41 crore White ration card holders in the State.
The YSR Bheema scheme would be launched to help the person who met with an accident.
To implement the scheme, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) released Rs. 583.50 crores yearly.
The scheme is applicable to those who are between the age of 18 to 70 years and support the family.
According to the rules of the scheme, beneficiaries between the ages of 18 to 50 years would get Rs. 2 lakhs in case of natural death and Rs. 5 lakhs in case of accidental death or complete disability
Accidental death and total permanent disability (Age: 18-50 ) = Rs 5 lakh
Accidental death and total permanent disability (Age: 51-70 ) = Rs 3 lakh
Natural death (Age: 18-50 ) = Rs 2 lakh
Partial or permanently disability due to an accident (Age: 18-70 ) = Rs 1.5 lakh
The selection process of the beneficiaries, the YSRCP volunteers would survey door to door and check for the White Ration card holders.
The survey would be supervised by the Secretary of Welfare within the Secretariat.
The selected beneficiaries should open a bank account including the nominee.
The beneficiaries have to pay a premium of Rs. 15/ per annum. Nominees include wife, 21 year old son, unmarried daughter, widowed daughter and dependent parents, widowed daughter in law or her children.
The Beneficiary is given an Identity Card with Unique Identification Number (Unique Id) and policy no. The insurance must be paid within 15 days of the claim being intimated.
The amount of the scheme would be deposited directly to the bank account of the beneficiary within 15 days of the claim being made.
