Nomula Narsimhaiah, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Nagarjunasagar, Nalgonda district passed away. 

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Legislator Mr. Narsimhaiah passed away during the early hours of the 1st of December.

Nomula Narsimhaiah was undergoing treatment for his prolonged illness at a private hospital in Hyderabad. He was 64 year old and hailed from Palem village of Marxist-hotbed Nakrekal mandal.

He was also a student leader in the Osmania University, Mr. Narsimhaiah later went on to practise at the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

Highlighting his political achievements, Nomula Narsimhaiah won the Nakrekal Assembly constituency in 1999 and 2004 as a candidate of the Communist Party of India (Marxist.)

However, in 2009 and 2014 he lost but lost Assembly elections in Bhuvanagiri and Nagarjunasagar respectively.

Later in 2014, Mr. Narsimhaiah joined the TRS and also participated in the agitation for a separate Telangana.

After joining the TRS, he won as the MP by defeating Sitting Congress stalwart K. Jana Reddy by over 7,000 votes.

Mr. Narsimhaiah is survived by wife, a son who is an advocate in the Telangana High Court, and two daughters who are living abroad.

Hearing upon the demise of senior leader of the TRS, K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, expressed shock and condolences.

Conveying his condolences to the bereaved family, he said Mr. Narsimhaiah was one of the true people leaders and would not be forgotten.

Besides KCR, the TRS ministers like K.T. Rama Rao, Jagadish Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, T. Harish Rao, and S. Niranjan Reddy, Assembly Speaker P. Srinivas Reddy, and TRS MLC K. Kavitha condoled his death.

The last rites of Mr. Narasimhaiah is likely to be held on the 1st of December.
