The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) Government moved the Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) against the e watch app.
On the 3rd of February, the State Election Commissioner (SEC) N. Ramesh Kumar launched an application e watch for the upcoming Grama Panchayat elections. The application was launched to file complaints on irregularities in the Panchayat elections.
However, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh showed dissatisfaction over the launch.
The Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSRCP in the motion petition said, the e watch app is a completely private app and the SEC is using a new app replacing the previous one.
The State Government sought an injunction to stop the application.
In addition, a call center would also set up to receive and resolve complaints from the public regarding elections.
Meanwhile, the HC refused to hear the petition and postponed the matter to the 4th of February.
