The Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus, is continuously under check with every day reported cases numbering below 300 cases.
On Thursday, the 24th of September, Telangana reported 239 new cases with two deaths and 336 recoveries. On the evening of the 24th of September, the Telangana Health Department released a media bulletin and updated information about the COVID-19 situation in the State. The new cases were confirmed after conducting 50,569 COVID-19 tests of samples, taking the cumulative total to 2.61 crores (2,61,04,979) till date.
With this, Telangana now has 6,64,650 positive cases, of which 4,778 are active cases, 6,55,961 are recovered/discharged cases and 3,911 are deceased.
According to sources, of the new cases, the highest number of cases have been reported from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region with 68 new cases. Although the Wuhan virus cases are decreasing in Telangana, the GHMC limit showed no improvement with more than 50 cases regularly. Yesterday, the GHMC limit reported 71 new cases, followed by 68 cases, the next day.
However, in the South Indian region, Telangana is the only state with low single day cases of the Wuhan virus. Other states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, the COVID-19 situation is risky with a high number of cases and active cases above 5,000.
On the other hand, with the situation under control, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is preparing for the possible third wave of the deadly virus.
In addition, Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, the Director General of Public Health of Telangana, urged people to follow COVID-19 behavior and visit nearby medical centres if any symptoms of Dengue or COVID-19 are shown.
In addition, the recovery rate of Telangana improved to 98.69% from the previous 98.67 % and the fatality rate of COVID-19 remained constant for the past two months at 0.58 %.
It is to be noted, of the total active cases, 79.90 % cases are asymptomatic, whereas, only 20.10 % are symptomatic.
