On the 26th of October, Tuesday, India recorded a fall in the new Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.) Compared to the previous day, the number of cases decreased with 12,428 new infections. On the 19th of October, India reported more than 14,000 cases of the Wuhan virus.
Besides the 12,428 new cases, the nation recorded 356 fatalities and 15,951 recoveries. The new cases were confirmed by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday morning. According to the Union Health Ministry data, the total cases of the Wuhan virus reached 3,42,02,202, of the total 1,63,816 are active cases, 3,35,83,318 are recovered/discharged cases and 4,55,068 are deceased cases till date.
The cases were confirmed after conducting a total of 11 lakh sample tests, taking the number of COVID-19 tests to 60 crores in India.
The updated figures of the Wuhan virus are available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.)
In addition, the national recovery rate of the Wuhan virus improved to 98.19 %, fatality rate is at 1.33% and active cases of COVID-19 are at 0.52%. India’s COVID-19 situation is improving with the precautions and measurements taken by the Union and the state governments. People’s contribution, who are following the COVID-19 appropriate behavior is also a major reason behind the new Wuhan virus cases being below 20,000. Active cases are also in check with under 2,00,000. It’s been 238 days, India reported below 20,000 cases.
On the other hand, over 102.08 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far including 58 lakh doses administered within the past 24 hours. The vaccines were given under the nationwide vaccination drive. With the same speed, the Government of India is aiming to administer COVID-19 vaccine to 108 crore people by the end of December.
Meanwhile, the Central Government has provided 102 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses to various states and union territories (UTs) so far. As of now, more than 10 crore doses of COVID-19 doses are available with the Indian states and UTs.
