The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has issued a notice to Mr. Avinash Reddy, the Member of Parliament (MP) of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP.)
According to sources, this is the second time that Mr. Avinash Reddy received a notice from the CBI, in connection with the 2019 Vivekananda Reddy Murder Case. Earlier, the Hyderabad CBI issued a notice Mr. Avinash Reddy, asking him to appear for probe on the 24th of January. However, due to work commitments and a busy schedule, Mr. Avinash Reddy said that he would not be able to attend the CBI investigation, following which the CBI issued a second notice.
In the fresh notice, the CBI has ordered Mr. Avinash Reddy to attend the probe on the 28th of January, at the Hyderabad CBI office. It is to be noted, as per the orders of the Supreme Court, the controversial 2018 Vivekananda Murder Case has been transferred to the Telangana Police official and CBI team.
In 2019, Mr. Vivekananda Reddy, uncle of Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was stabbed to death at his residence in Pulivendula. The major reason behind the murder is said to be the 2019 Assembly elections, in which Mr. Vivekananda Reddy was contesting on the YSRCP ticket.
The matter is still under investigation and has been transferred to the CBI Hyderabad.
