Political Bureau: The competition for three MLC seats in Andhra Pradesh has intensified, with major political parties engaging in a high-stakes battle. The elections will be held on Thursday for the Graduate MLC seats in the Combined Guntur-Krishna and East-West Godavari districts, along with the Uttarandhra Upadhyaya MLC constituency. The campaign officially ended on Tuesday evening.
The ruling coalition, comprising the TDP and Janasena, has fielded candidates for both graduate MLC positions, facing stiff resistance from the PDF in both regions. To secure victory, the alliance has put in significant efforts, leveraging its leadership and grassroots networks.
In the Uttarandhra Upadhyaya MLC constituency, a three-way contest has emerged. The ruling alliance has extended its support to APTF candidate Pakalapati Raghuvarma, while BJP-affiliated leaders are backing PRTU’s Gade Srinivasulu Naidu. Meanwhile, UTF’s Koredla Vijayagouri is also in the fray, making the competition highly unpredictable.
With 35 candidates contesting in the East-West Godavari graduate seat, 25 in the Krishna-Guntur seat, and 10 in the Uttarandhra Upadhyaya seat, voter preferences will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of this tightly contested election.
