Murasu Cyclone Puts Andhra Pradesh on Alert

Weather conditions in Andhra Pradesh have drawn attention as Cyclone Murasu moves closer to the state’s coast. With several districts facing the possibility of heavy rainfall and strong winds, the state government is stepping up its preparations.

Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan held a review meeting with officials from the Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Rural Water Supply departments on Monday, November 2.

He directed officials in Nellore, Prakasam, Markapuram, Bapatla and Krishna districts to remain alert. He also asked them to move people from low-lying areas to safer places wherever needed.

Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan stressed the need for coordination between the police, revenue and electricity departments. He also called for quick action to restore drinking water and power supplies if services are affected.

Officials were asked to arrange relief centres where needed and clear fallen trees from roads. The government is focusing on public safety and essential services as the cyclone approaches.
