A R Rahman to receive Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award

Mumbai: Music maestro A R Rahman will be honoured with Hridaynath Mangeshkar Award on October 26 in Mumbai. On the birth anniversary of Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar, who is a late younger brother of legendary playback singers Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, Rahman will receive the award from an acclaimed filmmaker Subhash Ghai.

Earlier, Lataji, Amitabh Bachchan and Sulochana Tai received the Hridaynath Award and now Rahman will be hounoured with the fifth Hridaynath Award.

AR Rahman is the pride of India in the field of music. He delivered several scores in Indian Cinema, which tug heartstrings. His tunes made millions of hearts skip a beat. For his wide and vast contribution to the Indian film industry, Rahman won Oscar for Best Original Score and Best Original Song for Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire.

Besides Oscar, he won many prestigious awards and also bagged four National Awards for his incredible works. Currently, the Oscar winner is busy with handful of important projects in the industry.
