Bengaluru: On the Facebook account, BJP MP from Mysuru, Prathap Simha received a death threat in regard with Tipu Sultan row. On receiving information, the security has been beefed up for him.
The MP received death threat for making comments on the controversial birth anniversary celebrations of the erstwhile rule of Mysuru, Tipu Sultan. Two days ago, at least three people were killed and many others were sounded in the attack in Madikeri.
In the wake of MP’s comments, a group called “Mysuru Tiger Shahide Millat Mahan Tippu Sultan” posted the threat on his Facebook account. The post reads, “If you speak against Muslims for political gains, you will meet the same fate,” says the post, which has tagged the picture of an unknown dead person.”
B Dayananda, Police Commissioner of Mysuru City said that the MP informed him about the threat over the phone and they considered it as a complaint. The Commissioner added that they have him adequate police security.
