Siachen braveheart Hanamanthappa passes away

New Delhi: Brave heart Lance Naik Hanamanthappa passed away on Thursday. The soldier of Indian Army was rescued on February 8 as he was found buried under the snow. The soldier was immediately admitted to a hospital and was undergoing treatment. But he breathed his last due to multi-organ dysfunctionat at RR Hospital after 3 days on ventilator support. He is survived by his wife and daughter. The soldier hails from Koppal in Karnataka.

On February 3, the deadly avalanche hit the Siachen glacier, the highest battlefield in the world, killing nine other Indian jawans. On Wednesday, the army officials released a bulletin on his health condition, which stated that his condition was still critical.
