Hyderabad: Telugu actor and Telugu Desam Party legislator from Hindupur, Balakrishna landed in hot water after making shocking comments on women. The actor, who enjoys a great fan following in the Tollywood, was booked for his ‘vulgar’ comments on women. The police said that they would examine the legal provisions before filing a First Information Report.
On Friday, at the audio launch of upcoming film “Savitri”, he said that his fans won’t accept if he simply chased women. He added, “I must either kiss or get them pregnant.”
The brother-in-law of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Mr.Balakrishna provoked people with his comments. YSR Congress leader Roja said, “If such senior leaders don’t respect women, no wonder status of women is what it is. He must apologise.”
In an official release, the actor said, “I have utmost respect towards women. The comments which I made were not to target anyone. Recollecting my previous movies, I made the comments. I extend my greetings to all women from the Telugu states and across the country on Women’s Day.”
