Delhi: India’s first semi-high speed train Gatimaan Express has hit the track today. Indian Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off the new express train which will run between the national capital’s Hazrat Nizamuddin station and Agra Cantonment station. It will provide its service six days a week, except on Friday.

7 Things you have to know about Gatimaan Express :
1. This express train can attain a maximum speed of 160 km per hour and can reach in just 100 minutes.
2. The Gatimaan will boast of 12 ultra-modern coaches.
3. Each coach costs a staggering Rs 2.5 crore.
4. Gatimaan express is equipped with automatic fire alarm emergency braking system, sliding doors, passenger information system and other technical things.

5. The 8-inch LCDs stuck to the back of every seat for entertainment. Later, these screens will be powered by satellite television and will broadcast live-feed.
6. The fare for an AC chair car seat is set at Rs 750 and that for an executive AC chair car seat at Rs 1,500.

7. The coaches have been fitted with bio-toilets and are fit to run at 160 km per hour.
