Check: “The Jungle Book” Collections In Opening Week

Mumbai: The much-talked-about fantasy drama “The Jungle Book” is running successfully at the box office with positive word-of-mouth and encouraging reviews. Directed by Jon Favreau, the Hollywood drama has managed to collect nearly Rs. 74 crore in its opening week in India. The film was opened was opened to theatres on April 8 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. The movie was released in India, a week ahead of its release in the US.

A statement said that the movie received a good response and also collected a total to Rs.74.08 crore at the ticket windows. Reports stated that it is the highest week one collection for any Hollywood release in India so far.

Starring Neel Sethi as Mowgli in a major role, the film also features the voices of Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong’o, Scarlett Johansson and Christopher Walken.

In the Hindi version, Bollywood actors Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan, Nana Patekar, Om Puri and Shefali Shah have lent their voices.
