Raipur: At least 17 were killed and over 53 were injured in a bus accident in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur district on Wednesday night. The private luxury bus was reaching Raipur to Gadhwa.
The accident took place at around 10:30 pm at Daldhowa ghat, 400 km from Raipur. According to the reports, the bus driver saw a motorcycle at a sharp bend and swerved to avoid him but lost control of the wheel causing the bus to come off the bridge and flip over two or three times.
Rescue teams have rushed to the spot and a police team is investigating the matter. Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh has directed the district administration to provide medical care to the injured.
