New Delhi: RSS wants to change the names of Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Aurangabad to Bhagyanagar, Karnavati and Sambhaji Nagar respectively, sources.
RSS has proposed that Hyderabad to be renamed after goddess Bhagyalakshmi, and the other two states to be named after a Hindu King Karan Dev I, of Solanki dynasty and Aurangabad after Chhatrapati Sambhaji.
RSS is of the opinion that the name of a place is tied to its “history and culture and not the ones that were named by invaders. ”. Last month, BJP-led Haryana government renamed Gurgaon district to Gurugram.
