Bengaluru: On Monday, a 20-year-old woman gave birth to the world’s heaviest baby girl in Hassan, Karnataka. The baby weighs 6.8 kg. A local health officer, Dr Venkatesh raju said, “In my 25 years of experience, I have never seen such a big baby. She is a miracle. I believe she is not only the heaviest baby born in India but the heaviest baby girl ever born in the world.”
Mother Nandini weighs 94 kg and is diabetic. With this, doctors are concerned about her health but the baby is healthy and does not have any health issues like irregular sugar levels or thyroid, and is breathing well.
Dr Poornima Manu, who delivered the baby, said, “The surgery took place for nearly half-an-hour and it was free of any risk. She is really big and beautiful.”
