‘The Voice Singer’ Christina Grimmie was killed at a concert venue in Florida. She was 22. A gunman opened fire at the singer, who was signing autographs for fans at a merchandise table after performing with the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live in Orlando.
In an email on Saturday, a publicist for Christina Grimmie, Heather Walsh, said, “we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord.”
The Orlando Police Department also confirmed her death on its official Twitter page. The tweet reads, “With deep regret, we have confirmed Christina Grimmie, @TheRealGrimmie has died from her injuries.”
The police said that her brother tackled the gunman, who was not identified yet. In the struggle, the gunman also killed himself. It is not yet known why he attacked the singer.
