A two-year-old tortoise in the Arignar Anna Zoological Park at Vandalur is now a star. Now, this animal can move faster than 14 other bigger tortoises in her enclosure with the help of wheels. The animal keeper noticed that it was struggling to movie due an injury, so they decided and fixed tiny wheels that are normally used on a sliding window.
The director of the Zoo, K.S.S.V.P. Reddy said, “One of the tortoises was allegedly bitten by a mongoose from the forest nearby. It was badly injured on its leg.”
He added, “A few minutes after the surgery, the tortoise moved around unfazed by the prosthetic — neither the wheels nor the rod attached to it seemed to bother her.” The tortoise now reaches her food faster than her friends in the enclosure.”
