Delhi: A Kashmir origin medical student was detained at the Indira Gandhi Airport in New Delhi on Friday after security staff claimed that “carrying bomb” was read on her luggage bag. The girl hailing from Rajbanh in Srinagar, was taken to the domestic airport and put through an hour-long joint interrogation by the police and intelligence agencies.

The girl was travelling along with her three friends to Srinagar from Dhaka, via Kolkata and New Delhi. She landed at the IGI airport at about 11 am on Friday. The girls parents took up the issue with the Jammu and Kashmir government, which is in touch with the Delhi Police.
Earlier responding to a tweet about the detention of the girls, National Conference working president Omar Abdullah wrote, “What is the reason for their detention? Can you please share some more details?”
