Chennai: Actress Nayanthara is embroilled in a controversy over the lip-lock scene with a school kid in her recent film “Thirunaal.” The scene is going viral on all social media platforms.
Speaking about the issue, the director said, “First of all, the scene is just a reflection of the kid’s innocent thoughts. It passed the censor board without being cut. Why don’t people see the good message in the climax rather than concentrating on a scene that was meant for fun? If Nayanthara had apprehensions while performing the scene, she wouldn’t have shot it at all!”
He added, “In recent times, there are a group of people who criticize anything and everything in a film. They blow up simple things out of proportion. We have stooped to the level that we can’t overlook a young boy kissing his teacher.”
Starring Jiiva and Nayanthara, “Thirunaal” earned good reviews. Ramnath said, “We have been seeing Nayanthara in an urban look, so I gave her a makeover in my film. I am glad that it worked out for her and the film.”
