On Monday morning, when a residential complex in Humayun Nagar of Hyderabad caught fire 20 people were stuck inside. Risking his own life Police Constable Bheem Rao rescued these individuals from the building. The Cop who was on duty in the nearby area was alerted by the locals, who rushed to the spot immediately. Reaching there he noticed that the fire had engulfed two floors and that people were stuck on both floors.

Speaking to the Times of India, the cop said, “When the fire broke out, residents on higher floors started moving upstairs instead of coming down. I had to run after them to bring them down,” he also added, “There were also many aged inside the building who were not that agile. When I heard them scream and shout, I rushed to their flats and started pulling them out. After that, I began carrying them downstairs to safety.”
The cop showed the presence of mind and threw the gas cylinders from the kitchen out which saved few more dozens of people in the surrounding buildings. The municipal administration and urban development minister K. Tarak Rama Rao, who took to twitter urging DGP Anurag Sharma to recognize his brave act. In his tweet, KTR said: “Great Job Bheem Rao Garu @TelanganaDGP should recognize his brave act.”
