In Andhra Pradesh, a speeding lorry jumped over the road divider and rammed into another lorry coming in the opposite direction, causing the death of five people.
The major accident occurred at the National Highway 16, Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh, in the wee hours of the 2nd of December, Friday. The police confirmed the incident and said, “Drivers of the two lorries and a cleaner were burnt to death on the spot after the collision caused fire in one of the cabins. Another person succumbed to burns in a hospital while undergoing treatment.”
According to the initial investigation, over speeding was prima facie the cause of the accident.
The identities of the deceased people are yet to be known and a further investigation into the accident is awaited.
