CM Revanth Reddy felicitates Padma awardees

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy announced Rs.25 lakhs cash incentive and Rs.25,000 monthly pension to Padma Shri Award winners declared recently. Revanth Reddy said Telugu people will be proud of the achievements of Padma awardees. 

Revanth Reddy felicitated former vice president M Venkiah Naidu, film actor Chiranjeevi who were selected for Padma Vibhushan awards. Chief minister said that many artists from rural areas were facing tough times to meet basic amenities and they were denied due respect and rewards. 

Reddy said that the government will help such artists as a responsibility. Chiranjeevi handed over Rs. 25 lakhs cheques to Gaddam Sammayya, Velu Anandachari, Ketavath Somlal, Dasari Kondappa, Umamaheswari and Kurella Vittalacharya who were selected for Padma Shri awards.

Revanth Reddy wished to see Venkiah Naidu as president of India. Actor Chiranjeevi upheld the state government’s decision to rename Nandi awards after Balladeer Gaddar. Naidu appreciated Chiranjeevi for his contribution to Telugu Cinema.
