Amid the heavy floods, the Andhra Pradesh government officials opened the Srisailam gates, on the 24th of July, Sunday.
However, on the 25th of July, Monday, the gates were closed, as the flood receded. The authorities released water through a gate till 10 o’clock today and closed it later. Three gates of Srisailam Dam, gates number five, six, and seven were opened on Sunday.
Furthermore, in 24 hours, 76,294 cusecs of water were released, including 31,567 cusecs of water from the right bank power station and 31,784 cusecs of water from the left bank power station and 26,560 cusecs released downstream through the spillway. Furthermore, the flow of 24,968 cusecs water continues from Jurala and Sunkesula dams.
Moreover, the full water level of the Srisailam reservoir is 885 feet and the current water level is 881.70 feet.
