The Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases are declining in India. In the past 24 hours, the nation reported less than 70k single day COVID-19 cases.
According to the Union Health Ministry, India reported 60,461 new cases, 2,726 fatalities, 1,17,525 recovered/discharged cases in the past 24 hours. The updated figures were confirmed on the morning of the 15th of June, by the Union Health Ministry.
This is the 9th consecutive day when India reported less than 1 lakh cases of the deadly Wuhah virus. The controlled situation of the second wave of the
COVID-19 infection is said to be due to the efforts of state governments, imposed lockdown and COVID-19 warriors who treated patients. Many states and union territories (UTs) like Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, West Bengal, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and others reported a massive decline in COVID-19 cases.
Maharashtra, Delhi and Karnataka which have the highest number of COVID-19 cases, showed a downfall in cases. As of now, Maharashtra has only 1,47,354 active cases, Delhi has only 3,226 cases and Uttar Pradesh has 8,111 active cases. Other states which showed improvement are, Rajasthan (6,476 cases,) Madhya Pradesh (3, 941 cases) and Gujarat with 9,542 active cases.
With this, India’s overall tally of the Wuhan virus cases now stands at 2,95,70,871, of which 2,82,80,472 are recovered cases, 9,13,378 are active cases and 3,77,031 are death cases till date. The updated data is available on the official website of the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW.) In addition, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) a total of 38,13,75,984 samples have been tested till date, including 17,51,358 samples tested on the 14th of June.
Meanwhile, in terms of COVID-19 vaccination, till date 25,90,44,072 people have been given COVID-19 vaccine doses in India, including 39,27,154 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours.
