James McAvoy has been roped in to play Professor X in the X-men spin-off movie, “New Mutants.” McAvoy’s co-star from “Split,” Anya Taylor-Joy accidentally confirmed his involvement in the movie “X-Men: The New Mutants.”

Anya and McAvoy worked together in M. Night Shyamalan’s movie “Split.” In an interview with Ace Showbiz, Anya confirmed her role as Magik, and also let out that Demon Bear will be the villain in the “New Mutants” movie. She said that she introduced herself recently to Marvel Comics and that she saw the “New Mutants” animation movie with Magik, Wolfsbane, and Cannonball fighting the Demon Bear.

She said, “I have (seen the Demon Bear animatic), it’s pretty cool. I’m a big fan so I’d love to be a part of it. I can’t say very much, but I would love to be a part of it. I think this year’s gonna be very exciting.” When asked if she would like to work with McAvoy again in “X-Men: New Mutants,” she slipped up and said, “I mean, I think James is already a part of it, isn’t he?”

This is the second time an insider spilled the beans regarding the involvement of James McAvoy in “New Mutants.” In May, producer Simon Kinberg confirmed James McAvoy’s involvement to the Collider. He said, “Right now, as the movie exists, Professor X would be a part of a “New Mutants” movie.” If rumors are to be believed, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence will be returning as Magneto and Mystique respectively.
